Fucking Recycle. Do it. It is very important. This poster collection has been designed to increase awareness and promote action. Statistics and simple commands about recycling and waste provides the foundation of this typographic exploration.
50 different posters have been screenprinted on 100% recycled paper. The process has been documented throughout. Using the do it yourself mode of production, a messaging system has been created and implemented. Each poster has been researched, designed, screenprinted, and posted in public. Posters provide the tool to convey information practically and repeatedly. The art of screenprinting gives the posters a tangible feeling, while the combination of rich colours and crisp detail instill a vibrant handmade quality. The brief bold message on each poster increases the retention of information and provokes a sense of urgency. By expanding the visibility and hype of important issues, action can be widespread. Recycle. It’s simple.
The Fucking Recycle project was featured in the Eco-Graphics issue of IdN Magazine (International designers Network), as well as appearing on the front cover.
The project was also featured in the Green issue of Perspective Magazine, the Fashion Week issue of Phoenix magazine, Design Week, Migrate magazine, and has been featured on many design and eco-graphic blogs and websites.
The screenprints are available for purchase and have been sold at the Design Museum Shop in London, the MOCA Store in Los Angeles and at an ecological clothing design shop in Denmark. Please contact me if you're interested in purchasing any of the screenprints in this project.

Since the fifteenth century and the advent
of the mirror, artists have modelled for themselves in their own works of art. Whether it's an in-depth exploration of the artist’s own psyche or simply because as a model, the artist is clearly the cheapest and most available. Whatever the reason, nearly every artist, in every medium from painters to sculptors have attempted this exploration of self. With this research, I’d like to explore the many different kinds of self-portraits in an attempt to understand why people create these works and how they benefit from them.
Two books Designed and created from a written response by Ned Buskirk to the Self Portrait project.
Book One is screenprinted with black ink on card (18in x 12in), unbound, this book was framed and hung. Book Two is inkjet printed, hand-stitched and cased by hand
(6.5in x 6in).
Softcover book. 7in x 9.25in. This book is a collection of postage stamps designed using photographs and illustrations of endangered plants and flowers from around the world. Book is inkjet printed, french fold, hand-stitched and cased by hand.
Although a field that is often overlooked by bibliophiles and historians of printing and typography, several of the most important contributors to modern book and letter arts have made significant contributions to the design of the seemingly modest postage stamp. Saul Bass, Neville Brody, Wim Crouwel, Milton Glaser have designed many stamps, and Eric Gill, although only responsible for two published designs has debated the specific concerns of philatelic design on the pages of the Times. Dutch designer Irma Boom has designed many stamps for the Netherlands and her colonies. These, and many more designers, are an unexplored resource of tremendous lettering and calligraphy. This project is to experiment with how these designers worked and solved problems.
